What else you should know:
Contractual information is available in the terms and conditions of use and can be consulted when submitting your order.
We do not perform or in any way support ear or tail docking practices. We respect our commitment to animal welfare and promote the breeding and care of animals in accordance with animal welfare rules and legislation.
You can choose this preference on the order form in the Vaccination section, where you will find the option "Export Ready". To travel to the European Union, pets need a passport. This can be issued by your veterinarian from the age of 3 months, once the rabies vaccination has been carried out. If you choose delivery to a country other than Romania, the puppy will be shipped after 3 months and 3 weeks of age, at which point it will be vaccinated against rabies, microchipped and will have an international passport.
If you would like your puppy to be accompanied by a Pedigree certificate, please select the appropriate option when placing your order. This document certifies the pedigree of the dog and the authenticity of the breed, and is issued by specialized organizations. We recommend that you consider this option if you want to participate in dog shows or have the guarantee of a pure genetic line.
Transportation in Romania
Puppies can be transported to the client's city, depending on the availability of our routes. If delivery cannot be made to a specific city, this will be communicated in advance to find an optimal solution for the puppy's delivery.
Currently, direct delivery to the customer's address is not possible.
International transport
If you opt for delivery outside Romania, the puppy can only be shipped after the age of 3 months and 3 weeks, at which time it will be vaccinated against rabies, microchipped and will have an international passport. Be sure to choose the Ready for Export option in the Vaccination section when submitting your order.
If transportation cannot be made to the customer's city, this will be communicated in advance in order to identify a convenient delivery solution.
We do not currently offer transportation to the exact address of the customer.

- Italy: Padua, Verona, Milan, Bologna, Florence, Rome
- Moldova: Chisinau
- Netherlands: Eindhoven, Breda
If you have questions about transportation or other destinations, please contact us for more information.
We deliver our puppies as soon as possible, but never before the minimum age of 8 weeks, which may vary by breed. Although we want to get your puppy to you as soon as possible, it is essential to respect this interval, both for the puppy's sake and for your own comfort. Premature separation can make care and adaptation considerably more difficult or even jeopardize the puppy's health.
The estimated time to delivery, shown on each breed's page, may be influenced by your preference of sex, size, color or vaccination schedule. For this reason, please take it as a guide. During the selection process, we will keep you up to date with updated information.
For pedigree puppies, identification and verification may take up to 3 months, depending on national availability at the time of order. If you decline a proposal on a puppy, the order remains active and the identification process continues and we will come back with alternatives. In this situation, the delivery time will be extended by the estimated period specified on the page of the breed ordered.
Internal deworming is an essential process in the first months of a puppy's life and is rigorously carried out before each vaccination to eliminate intestinal parasites and pathogens such as Giardia. This can be carried out either by the veterinarian or the breeder, depending on the situation.
We recommend that both internal and external de-worming be carried out within the first week of your puppy's arrival to ensure complete parasite elimination and proper preparation for the next vaccine according to the vaccination schedule. External deworming is indicated immediately after the first bath, followed by a period of 24 hours during which direct contact with the treated area should be avoided.
We are glad to see that you are thinking about training, as it is very important. Puppies are not generally trained before leaving, it is up to the breeder what education they choose to provide the puppy.
However, if you want specific training, this can be done after 4-5 months of age.
All puppies need proper training from their owner upon arrival. If you don't want to hire a trainer, there are several resources that can be found online to help you.
Puppy health is our top priority! We inspect puppies at the owner's location from the time of booking to the time of delivery to ensure they are healthy, happy and well cared for. Once you choose your puppy, we will make sure it is properly vaccinated and shows optimal clinical signs to be transported safely. At the same time, you will benefit from a medical guarantee for viral diseases for which vaccination has been carried out (Parvovirus, Jigodie, Hepatitis, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis or Rabies) for a period of 5 days so that you have enough time to confirm the puppy's good health. For added safety, it is recommended that when placing your order you choose a puppy with multiple vaccinations, as this will give your puppy immunity so that it will not become ill from viruses or bacteria in the external environment.
All our puppies receive the necessary vaccinations and internal deworming according to their age, performed by the breeder or veterinarian.
Of course, we microchip all puppies if this has not been done by the breeder, and the microchip code will always be pasted into their health card. Registration in RECS will be completed as soon as you send us a copy of your ID.
This is possible. The identification and verification steps will be carried out by BucuriaCasei, you will indicate the desired specimen from the photos that will be sent to you so that the veterinarian can properly vaccinate the puppy, and then you will be sent the location so that you can personally pick up the chosen puppy.
You can cancel your order at any time by communicating your intention on WhatsApp, by phone or by email. The identification and verification procedures we carry out for each order involve proportionate costs, which is why the amount of the advance payment paid is non-refundable, except in the following situations:
- the order is less than 7 days old;
- the order exceeded by more than 30 days the estimate on the ordered breed page (for dogs without pedigree) or the deadline agreed upon order;
- the order has exceeded by more than 30 days the 6 months term (for pedigree dogs) or the term agreed at the time of order.
Also, even if you fall into one of the points mentioned above, the refund will not be made in the following situations:
- you have already chosen a puppy that I have reserved for you;
- you have refused a specimen that was proposed to you, which is why the order fulfillment deadline is extended by the delivery estimate displayed on the ordered breed page.
If you are eligible for a refund of the advance, 20 lei will be deducted from the refunded amount, related to bank fees. It will be paid into the same bank account from which the payment was made, within a maximum of 14 days.
Submitting an order represents a commitment assumed by both parties.
The price consists of the advance payment of 10% which is paid at the time of sending the order and an estimate to be paid upon delivery. In our activity of identifying and verifying the puppies available in the country we will obtain results and photos that we will send you, accompanied by the price difference that you will pay upon receipt. In case the price sent is higher than the estimated one on the site and it does not represent any obligation to accept the offer, we will continue the checks at other breeders. Although we make efforts to regularly update the prices displayed on the site, they should be treated as information.

Long-haired dachshund for sale: breed
Don't let the Dachshund fool you. He may be, as the legendary literary critic and humorous journalist H. L. Mencken put it, "half a dog in height and a dog and a half in length," but this little dog is tough enough to take a badger's trail. In fact, that's what he was bred for, and that's how he got his name ("Dachs" meaning badger; "hund" meaning dog).
Dachshunds (pronounced DAKS hund - never dash-hound) fall into three varieties: smooth (short-haired), wire-haired and long-haired. In the United States, these dogs are either miniature (under 5 pounds as an adult) or standard (usually between 7 and 15 pounds as an adult). If your dachshund weighs between 5 and 7 pounds, he is called a tweenie. Other countries have a wider variation in sizes.
No matter their size, Dachshunds are a delightful addition to any family, which is why they've ranked near the top of most popular dog lists since the '50s. You can't help but smile when you look at a confident Dachshund, proudly carrying his long, muscular body on short legs, his elongated head held high with a bold, intelligent look in his eyes. Because of his almost comical appearance, he has long been a favorite subject of cartoons and toy manufacturers. But the cute look was developed for more serious and practical reasons. Its short legs allow it to dig and maneuver through tunnels to track and even fight badgers and other animals. This dog is brave but can be somewhat stubborn and has an independent spirit, especially when hunting.
At home, the dachshund's playful nature shines through. He likes to be close to you. Because of his intelligence, he often has his own ideas about what the rules are when it comes to playtime - and those rules may not be the same as yours or even other dog breeds. Dachshunds are known for being lively and enjoy chasing other small animals, birds and toys. The breed standard - a written description of how the Dachshund should look and act - probably describes his personality best, saying that "The Dachshund is intelligent, lively and courageous to the point of eruption, persevering in work above and below the ground, with all senses well developed. Any display of timidity is a serious error. "
Dachshunds have soulful eyes and complex facial expressions. Their lungs are large for a dog of their size and they have a barrel-like chest. Because of these things, it has a loud, deep bark that sounds like it comes from a much larger dog. And you should know that it really likes to bark, something you might consider if you have neighbors who might be annoyed rather than amused by this.
Dachshunds often bond closely to one person. They may even become jealous of their owner's attention and can, if not properly trained and socialized, become restless.
The short-haired dachshund is the most popular variety in the United States because it needs little grooming. However, it needs a sweater in winter if you live in an area with cold weather. Common colors are red, cream, black and tan, black and cream, chocolate and tan, blue and tan, and tan and tan. They may also have patterns on fur such as dapple, brindle, sable and piebald.
Long-haired dachshunds have sleek, slightly wavy hair and can have the same coloring as short-haired dachshunds. They should be brushed every day to prevent tangles, especially around the elbows and ears. Many believe this type has a more docile temperament than the other two types.
Wire-haired Dachshunds have short, thick, coarse hair with bushy eyebrows and beard. Like the short-haired, they are often mischievous. It won't need a sweater in winter, but it must be brushed regularly to prevent tangles from forming. Their coat colors can be the same, but the most popular are a mix of black, brown and gray, black and tan, and various shades of red.
This dog was often seen as a symbol of Germany. Because of this association, it lost popularity in the United States during World War I and World War II. However, it quickly made a comeback in popularity. Because of the association with Germany, a dachshund named Waldi was chosen to be the first official mascot for the 1972 Summer Olympics.
Dachshunds are a good choice for apartment dwellers and people who don't have a yard. They are popular with city dwellers because of their small size and ease of care. They are generally active indoors and also like to go for walks. Just be careful not to let it get too fat or allow it to hurt its back jumping off furniture. Also make sure you support his back when you hold him. Because of this, he is susceptible to slipped or ruptured (herniated) discs in his back, which can lead to partial or complete paralysis.
Though originally bred to hunt ferocious badgers and other animals, today's dachshunds are ideal family companions. They are also hard-working and well-liked therapy dogs. Because they are such a popular breed, many people breed these dogs to earn money rather than out of a love for the breed.
The Dachshund is a versatile companion. With its variety of sizes, colors, coat types and personalities, there's a Dachshund to suit everyone.
Long-haired dachshund for sale: brief history
The dachshund was created in Germany, where it was known as the Dachshund, 'dachs' meaning badger and 'hund' meaning dog. Illustrations of dogs resembling Dachshunds date back to the 15th century, and documents from the 16th century mention this 'earth dog'. Badgers were not the only prey. It was also used on animals such as foxes and wild boars. Those early Dachshunds varied greatly in size. The dogs used for badgers and boars weighed between 14 and 16 pounds. Those used to hunt foxes and deer weighed between 7 and 10 kg, and smaller ones weighing less than 5 kg hunted rabbits and weasels.
Known as the Dachshund in Germany, the breed was refined over many years by German foresters in the 18th and 19th centuries. They wanted to develop a fearless, elongated dog that could dig for badgers and then fight them to the death if necessary. The Shorthairs were the original type, created by crosses with the Braque, a small French pointing breed, and the Pinscher,. Basset Hounds may have played a role in the development of the dachshund.
Carefully sculpted over years of breeding, today's Dachshund is the only AKC-recognized breed that hunts both above and below ground. Its short, strong legs have allowed it to burrow into narrow tunnels to pursue its prey. Its long, sturdy tail, extending directly from its backbone, gave hunters a 'handle' to pull it out of its burrow. The unusually large, paddle-shaped paw was perfect for effective digging. Its deep chest, with ample lung capacity, gave it hunting stamina, and its long nose allowed it to sniff out scent well.
And, of course, they had to be bold and tenacious. Although the original German Dachshund was larger than those we know today, you can still see the fearlessness for which the breed was developed in even the smallest varieties. Give your dog a squeaky toy and he will probably "kill" it by destroying it as quickly as possible. Remember, these dogs were bred not only to hunt prey, but to kill.
In the 1800s, dachshunds began to be bred more as pets than as hunters, especially in Britain. They were favored in royal courts across Europe, including that of Queen Victoria, who was particularly fond of the breed. Due to this trend, their size was gradually reduced by about 5 kg. Eventually, an even smaller version was bred.
A breed standard was written in 1879, and the German Dachshund Club was founded nine years later in 1888. By 1885, the Dachshund reached America, and in that year 11 dogs were registered with the American Kennel Club. The first was given the name Dash. The Dachshund Club of America was founded 10 years later in 1895.
The breed became very popular in the early 1900s, and in 1913 and 1914, they were among the top 10 most popular entries in the Westminster Kennel Club Show. During World War I, however, the breed had hard times in the United States and England, as they were closely associated with Germany. Owners were sometimes called traitors and their dogs were stoned to death. After World War I, some US breeders imported Dachshunds from Germany, and the breed began to become popular again. The breed faced a similar fate during the Second World War, but not as severe as during the First World War.
In the 1950s, the dachshund again became one of the most popular family dogs in the US, a status they have enjoyed ever since. While they are rarely used as hunting dogs in the US or the UK, in other parts of Europe, particularly France, they are still considered hunting dogs. Today, the Dachshund ranks sixth among the 155 breeds and varieties recognized by the AKC.
Long-haired dachshund for sale: size
Dachshunds are bred and displayed in two sizes: Standard and Miniature. Standard of all varieties usually weigh between 7 and 16 kg. Miniature Dachshunds of all varieties weigh less than 10 pounds. Those weighing between 5 and 7 kg are called Tweenies. Although this is not an official classification, the Tweenie is not penalized in the show ring.
Long-haired dachshund for sale: personality
The Dachshund is described as intelligent, lively and courageous. He was bred for perseverance, which is another way of saying he can be stubborn. These dogs have a reputation for being fun-loving and fearless, but what they want most is to stick to their people. Personality can also vary by coat type. Because wire-haired dogs have the terrier as their ancestor, they can be mischievous troublemakers. Long-coats are calm and quiet, while short-coats have a personality somewhere in the middle.
Temperament is affected by a number of factors, including heredity, training, and socialization. Puppies with nice temperaments are curious and playful, willing to approach people and be held by them.
Like any dog, dachshunds need early socialization - exposure to many different people, sights, sounds and experiences - when they're young. Socialization helps ensure that your pup grows up to be a well-rounded dog. Enrolling in puppy daycare is a great start. Inviting visitors regularly and taking him to busy parks, stores that allow dogs and on leisurely walks to meet neighbors will also help him polish his social skills.
Long-haired dachshund for sale: health
Dachshunds are generally healthy, but like all breeds, they are prone to certain health conditions. Not all dogs will have any of these diseases, but it is important to be aware of them if you are considering this breed.
If you buy a puppy, find a good breeder who will show you the health papers of the puppy's parents. Health certificates show that a dog has been tested and recovered from a particular ailment.
- Intervertebral disc disease (IDD): IDD occurs when a disc in the spine ruptures or herniates and pushes up into the spinal cord. When the disk pushes into the spinal cord, nerve transmissions are prevented from traveling along the spinal cord. Intervertebral disk disease can be caused by trauma, age or simply from the physical jolt that occurs when a dog jumps off a couch. When the disc ruptures, the dog usually feels pain, and the ruptured disc can lead to weakness and temporary or permanent paralysis. Treatment usually involves nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) made specifically for dogs. Never give your dog Tylenol or other NSAIDs made for humans, as they can be toxic. In some cases, surgery may be helpful, but must be done within a day or so of an accident. You may also want to ask your veterinarian about physical rehabilitation. Treatments such as massage, treadmills and electrical stimulation are available for dogs and can have excellent success.
- Epilepsy: Dachshunds are prone to epileptic seizures. For dogs that are affected, the condition is thought to be genetic or is caused by falling or a hard blow to the head. If your pet has seizures, take him to your veterinarian to determine what treatment is appropriate. In many cases, epilepsy can be controlled with medication.
- Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA): This is a degenerative eye condition that eventually causes blindness due to the loss of photoreceptors in the back of the eye. PRA is detectable years before the dog shows signs of blindness. Fortunately, dogs can use their other senses to compensate for blindness, and a blind dog can live a full and happy life.
- Gastric Dilation: This is a life-threatening condition that can affect a Dachshund, especially if it is fed a large meal a day, eats quickly, drinks large amounts of water and then exercises vigorously after eating. Some believe that many meals a day and the type of food could also be factors for dilation. This problem occurs more commonly in older dogs, but can occur at any age. Gastric dilatation occurs when the stomach is expanded with gas or air and then twisted. The dog can't burp or vomit to get rid of the excess air in the stomach, and the normal return of blood to the heart is prevented. Blood pressure drops and the dog goes into shock. Without immediate medical attention, the dog may die. Gastric dilatation may be suspected when your dog has a distended abdomen, drools excessively and burps without vomiting. He may also be restless, depressed, lethargic and sluggish with a rapid heart rate. It's important that your pet gets to the vet as soon as possible. There are some indications that gastric dilatation is inherited, so neutering dogs that develop this condition is recommended.
- Cushing's disease (hyperadrenocorticism): This condition occurs when the body produces too much of a hormone called cortisol. It can be due to an imbalance in the pituitary or adrenal glands, or it can occur when a dog has too much cortisol from other conditions. The most common signs are excessive urination and excessive fluid intake. There are treatments to help with this disease ranging from removal of a gland to medication.
- Canine diabetes: Diabetes is occasionally seen in Dachshunds, especially if they are overweight. Diabetes can be treated with diet and daily insulin injections. Signs include excessive urination and thirst and weight loss despite appetite.
Long-haired dachshund for sale: care
Dachshunds have a lot of stamina and energy. They love to go for a walk or play outside with other dogs, and like to hunt and dig. They are also active indoors and can do well in small living spaces, as long as they get a moderate amount of daily exercise.
They are not suited to living outdoors or in a kennel, but should live indoors. This dog can learn quickly if properly motivated. Use positive reinforcement, such as food rewards or a favorite toy, with short training sessions. It will get bored quickly if made to repeat the same exercise several times.
Long-haired dachshund for sale: feeding
Recommended daily amount: 1/2 to 11/2 cups of high-quality dry food per day, divided into two meals. Note: How much your adult dog eats depends on size, age, build, metabolism and activity level. Dogs are individuals, just like humans, and not all dogs need the same amount of food. It almost goes without saying that an extremely active dog will need more food compared to a less active one. The quality of the dog food you buy also makes a difference - the better the food, the more nutrients and satiety it will provide, without you having to constantly check the bowl.
Long-haired dachshund for sale: fur color and maintenance
The Smooth Dachshund's coat is short and shiny. Their color is often red or cream, perhaps with a little black. Those with two colors are usually black, chocolate, grizzled, gray or tan, with tan or cream markings. Dachshunds have a merle pattern in their coats, with areas of light and dark color in even distribution. Other color patterns are brindle, in which there are dark stripes all over the body, and sable, where there is an overall dark covering of hair.
In Wirehaired Dachshunds (wirehaired breed), the coat is very different from the short-haired. They have short, thick, coarse hair on the top coat with a softer undercoat. Covered rough hair is found all over the body except on the jaw, eyebrows and ears. It has about the same colors as the short-haired.
In the Longhaired Dachshund (longhaired breed), the coat is shiny, slightly wavy, which gives a sleek appearance. They come in the same colors found in other types of Dachshunds.
Dachshunds are a low-maintenance breed. They shed, but not excessively. Unless they've wrapped themselves in something smelly, they generally don't need to be bathed often and don't have a doggy odor.
Wire coats need regular brushing and long coats need regular brushing to prevent mats. Start grooming your dog from an early age and teach him to sit on a table or floor to make the experience easier for both of you. When grooming your pet at any stage of life, take the time to check for scabs, skin lesions, spots, rough, black skin or signs of infection.
For all breeds and sizes of Dachshund, pay special attention to the ears, which can be a breeding ground for fungus, bacteria and mites. Clean his ears regularly with a warm damp cloth and run a cotton swab around the edge of the canal. Never stick the cotton swab into the actual ear canal. If the ear edges are dry, apply mineral or baby oil. The oil can also be used on a dry nose.
Brush your dachshund's teeth at least two or three times a week to remove tartar buildup and bacteria that lurks inside. Daily brushing is even better if you want to prevent gum disease and bad breath. Remove your nails once or twice a month. Start getting him used to being brushed and examined when he's a puppy. Frequently handle his paws and check his mouth.
Long-haired dachshund for sale: relationship with children and other animals
Dachshunds are good with children in their own family if introduced early. They may not be as loving as your children's friends, so watch them carefully.
With long backs, Dachshunds can be easily injured if not treated correctly. Make it a rule that young children can only hold them if they're sitting on the floor. As with every breed, however, you must teach children how to approach and touch dogs and always supervise any interaction between them to prevent any biting. Teach your child never to approach the dog while eating or sleeping or to try to take the dog's food. No dog, however friendly, should be left unattended with a child.
Dachshunds get along well with other pets, especially if introduced in childhood. With their bold, dominant personalities, they can be very good top dogs.
